Feeling stuck in life? S.I.T. is here for you!
Nowadays, everyone is talking about self-love and healing. However, these buzz words can be empty phrases without any real substance behind them. What does it mean to love yourself? How do we achieve real self acceptance? Is it more than just taking baths? What lies beneath the surface of our daily emotions and thoughts?
Now more than ever we need to focus less on the things we have and more on the happiness and joy we receive on a daily basis. Achieving daily fulfilment can be hard to grasp, especially with our busy lives. We may find ourselves procrastinating the tasks that fill our cups.
What is procrastination?
“Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute, or past their deadline. Some researchers define procrastination as a “form of self-regulation failure characterized by the irrational delay of tasks despite potentially negative consequences.”1
Sometimes we procrastinate, and that’s very normal! However, making a habit of putting off the work that we need to do on ourselves can get us into trouble.
Before we know it, years have gone by and we are still stuck in relationships that don’t serve us or living with fears that are holding us back.
If you do a quick Google search on being more productive, you’ll receive endless advice, tips and techniques. By putting these to use, we can find some success – but what if the problem lies deeper under the surface?
Ask yourself these questions:
- Have you ever tried to achieve your goals but are too afraid to start?
- Do you feel like certain barriers prevent you from achieving your goals, without knowing what those barriers are?
- Do you feel yourself standing in the way of achieving your goals?
- Have you tried ‘productivity techniques’ without finding real success?
If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then S.I.T. may be right for you!
“In a society that says, ‘Put yourself last,’ self-love and self-acceptance are revolutionary.” – Brene Brown
